Helpdesk - Getting IT support
- General Support
- Computer Lab Support
- Lecture Theatre Support
- Contact the Computer Support Officers (CSOs)
If you need IT support, the first step you should take is to email the Helpdesk:
This mail is read by both Computer Support Officers (CSOs), and thus jobs can be logged and completed much more efficiently.
Only call a CSO if the network is down or there is an urgent matter which is preventing you from completing your task at hand. For example:
- Can't receive or send email, or
- Giving a lecture and PC/Laptop stops working, or
- Can't log-on
For staff who are teaching in the computer lab and are experiencing problems with the computers, the best way to contact IT is to pick up the phone marked "Bat Phone" at the back of the Computer Lab. This is a direct line which will put you in immediate contact with a CSO.
Lecture theatres in the Edward Ford building and most other locations are controlled by Audio Visual, part of the Facilities Management Office (FMO), so when requiring support you will need to call:
FMO support - 9036 9363
If all else fails, then call a CSO.
