Risks & benefits

This risks and benefits calculator, developed by the School of Public Health, shows the risks (increased risk of breast cancer, heart disease, stroke and vein thromboses) and benefits (reduced risk of hip fractures and bowel cancer) of taking combined HRT for one and five years in Australian women.

This information is most accurate for women who have no personal or family history of cancer or heart disease. If you do have a personal or family history of cancer or heart disease, it's possible that your risks are higher than those for other women.
