Australian Centre for Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders

The Australian Centre for Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders (ACCIDD) is situated in the Institute of Clinical Pathology & Medical Research building at Westmead Hospital. Over the past two decades, ACCIDD has provided assistance to developing countries in the Asia-Pacific Region to fight Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD).
The Centre's research activities include the multi-million dollar Tibet Iodine Deficiency Disorder Elimination Project and the Reference Laboratory for IDD for the West Pacific Region, part of the International Reference Laboratory for Iodine network.
